I was introduced to showing dogs in 1989 when my friend Kris Read gave me a puppy bitch Australian Cattle Dog which later became my first AKC Champion.
After graduating from college, I decided to try handling dogs professionally.
I have presented dogs all over the United States, concentrating mainly on the Midwest and Southwest.
I've participated in all levels of shows from local all-breed shows to specialties and national events. Some of the highlights of my career as a professional handler include the following memorable events:
- Two Best of Opposites at Westminster, Madison Square Garden- In 1999: going Best of Opposite with a home-bred bitch Australian Cattle Dog, AM CH Sunfarms Fantasia Esmerelda...then in 2001: going Best of Opposite with AM-MEX CH Geo Valadez, who later became a German Shepherd three time Mexican Grand Victor
- Winning Best of Breed at the Belgian Malinois Club of America National Specialty from the open bitch class
- Going Grand Victrix and Best of Breed at the German Shepherd Club of America National Championships in 2006 with AOE AM-CAN Sel Castlehills Tuff Cookie
- Taking Winners Bitch at German Shepherd Club of America National Championship in 2004 with CH Chantilly's Holiday Compadre
- I have shown numerous dogs to Group One wins and multiple group placements in five of the seven recognized AKC groups as well as BISS at numerous independent specialties across the USA and Canada
Internationally, I have handled dogs in Mexico, Canada, Belgium, France and Japan.
In addition to presenting dogs, I eventually began breeding Australian Cattle Dogs and have bred thirty-five AKC CH Cattle Dogs which have found homes in Canada, Mexico, Cuba, South America and Japan.
One of these dogs became the #1 ranked Australian Cattle Dog in Japan. Another of my breedings became the 1st "Best In Show" Australian Cattle Dog in Mexico. This great dog was "American/Mexican CH Sunfarms Asteroid".
In 1992,thanks to my friend Gloria Kerr, I acquired my first Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
Her name was "International/American/Canadian/Mexican CH Krishna Nut-N-Honey.
All of the Corgis I have bred go back to her and among these are thirteen champion Corgis.
Over the years I have enjoyed presenting a wide variety of dog breeds and have met many good people along the way.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the wonderful clients who have trusted me in the care and showing of their companions across the country.
